Baking essentials
My favourite cookie scoops that I use every time! They've held up so well over the years and you can also use them for ice cream. Pro Tip: Scoop the cookie dough while it's still soft and not yet chilled.
This is my go to large oxo cookie scoop that I use all the time for large bakery style cookies. It also doubles as an ice cream scoop! I love how easily the mechanism scrapes the dough out of the scoops, giving you perfect balls of dough.
This medium sized oxo cookie scoop is perfect for regular sized cookies. The perfect cookies size for gifting in cookie boxes.
If you've ever owned a two piece spatula then you know how gross they get in between the spatula and handle. I only buy one piece silicone spatulas now. So much easier to clean and safer. This set has great reviews and a cute sprinkles pattern.
These silicone baking mitts are perfect if yours are in need of an upgrade! They have a silicone exterior so you can wash the grease and crumbs off really easily.
Cake pans
These Wilton 8" round cake pans are my go to size for making layer cakes. They're affordable, good quality, and bake very evenly. I use two of them in this triple chocolate cake recipe.
These Wilton 6" round cake pans are perfect for smaller layer cakes. They're affordable, good quality, and bake very evenly. I use them in this Butterscotch Cake with Butterscotch Drip.
This 10" springform glass bottom pan is perfect for cheesecake. You don't need to remove the bottom of the pan before cutting and serving because the glass won't scratch when you cut into it! I make all my cheesecakes in glass bottom springform pans and it makes life so much easier. Check out this chocolate orange cheesecake recipe and you can spot the glass bottom in some of the photos!
Cake decorating
This Wilton 1M piping tip is my go to piping tip. See how these nutella cupcakes look with the piping tip.
This is my favourite reusable piping bag to use for frosting cakes and cupcakes. It holds so much and you can wash and reuse after! I pour some soap inside, close, and smush the sides to lather up. Rinse and let it dry and it's all good to go.
This cake turntable is what I use to assemble and decorate all my cakes. It turns suuuper smoothly to help create straight and smooth frosted cakes. It's made really well and I know that it will serve me for a long time.
This gold and white sprinkle mix is sooo similar to what I used in these butterscotch blondies. It's a classic mix that you can use all year round for birthdays and celebrations.
These beeswax birthday candles are the perfect addition to your next birthday cake. They don't have any hidden harmful substances so you won't be worried if some drips onto your cake. Keep and reuse them for the next birthday party so that you can get a lot of life out of them! Or melt them down afterwards to make a diy candle in a jar.
This handy small offset spatula is perfect for spreading frosting on flat surfaces such as the tops of cakes, brownies, and bars. It's the perfect size and the offset design prevents your fingers from ruining the frosting as you frost.
This long straight spatula is my go to for smoothing down the sides and edges of cakes.
If you're baking cakes and don't have a storage container for them yet, then this cake carrier is perfect for you. I use mine all the time and recently bought a second one. It keeps the cake nice and safe, and allows you to store it in the fridge without drying out and preventing weird fridge smell.
Home goods
This apple and maple bourbon soy wax candle will make your home smell like you just baked up a storm! It has a long-lasting phthalate-free scent.
I love my marble cake stand (I use it in so many photos!) and I'm sure you're going to love it too! Here's a very similar cake stand to what I use in this triple chocolate cake recipe.
Kitchen cleanup
I spend way too much time in the kitchen (for obvious baking reasons) and have loved these gadgets to help me clean up! Honestly, lifesaving.
My family bought this bissel cordless wet vacuum as an early Christmas present for ourselves. It's honestly life changing. With a messy toddler, a cat, and constantly being in the kitchen, I'm finding that I need to vacuum and mop every single night. The bissel crosswave pro vacuums AND mops at the same time, leaving the floors squeaky clean. It's cordless, and I can clean everything with one hand, holding my toddler with my other. This is my favourite purchase and has made my house so much cleaner with much less effort.
This set of 16oz amber glass cleaning bottles are perfect for making or mixing your own cleaning products. They look cute and the glass won't absorb any scents from essential oils. They've worked really well for me and I use it for everything from multipurpose cleaner to spritzing my plants with water.
This dymo embossing label maker is perfect for making durable labels for cleaning bottles and everything else around your house. The black embossed tape labels look so cute on the amber glass spray bottles.
I've been loving this set of sustainable, biodegradable cleaning brushes for my kitchen and laundry room. They scrub really well and last for a long time.
Thank you for going through my essentials list, I hope you loved it and found it useful!
