These lemon brownies are super tangy, zesty, and fudgy. They’re packed full of lemon and butter flavor. The fudgy, rich texture is similar to a brownie but there’s no chocolate!

The tang comes from freshly squeezed lemon juice. To balance out all of the extra moisture, I added two egg yolks. This also helps add a natural yellow tint to the lemon brownies.
what you will need:
– granulated sugar – lemons – sea salt – butter – large eggs – egg yolks –lemon juice – yellow food coloring – all purpose flour – baking powder
– powdered sugar – lemon juice
Line the bottom and edges of an 8” or 9” square baking pan with parchment paper.
Combine sugar, grated lemon zest, and salt. Rub until fragrant. Pour melted butter into the sugar mixture and whisk well. Add two whole eggs and two large egg yolks, whisking well.
Add lemon juice and food colouring (if using), whisking well. Then sift the flour and baking powder. Fold with a spatula. Transfer to the prepared baking pan, bake. Let brownies cool.
For the glaze: In a medium bowl, combine powdered sugar and lemon juice. Pour glaze over cooled brownies. Spread to the edges. Let the glaze set, slice and enjoy!
